Bill Johnson (Guitar/Keyboards/Vocals):
Hi, I'm Bill. I play guitar, keyboards and sing. I also write material. The one constant in my life has been being an active musician. I started playing in bands when in high school, and I've never stopped. I just love music. I lived in Los Angeles, CA. for a while and played venues like the famous Whiskey A-Go-Go. Loved the weather!!! Since coming back here to CT., several bands have kept me busy. In the early '80's I was in Teasha Dragon doing covers and originals, and we saw just about every stage from here to the ski resorts in upstate NY. If you were hitting the clubs in the mid '80's you probably saw me in Swift Kick. I was an original member, and again, we played all over. Nightspots like Infinity's, The 190 ( remember those places?), Flatt Street in Brattleboro, VT., even as far away as in Portland, Maine were regular stops. Lots of originals as well as covers ( can you say Dokken? ). Among others we shared the bill with such national acts as Zebra, Alvin Lee of Ten Years After, and Joan Jett. I spent the '90's in several area bands, with special focus on original material. During this time I not only gigged in clubs but also performed in regional music showcases-most notably in Boston. I really had some great times there. Like everyone in Quintera, I like all kinds of music. On any given day, I might listen to THE BEATLES, Dwight Yoakam, Disturbed, J.S. Bach or even...Sinatra!!! I hope to continuously improve as a musician and writer, and I'm influenced by almost everything I hear in some way. My formal educational background includes several years of study in music theory, vocal lessons, etc. But one thing that I love about music is that you can never know it all. There will always be something new to learn or refine. And, I love to perform with great musicians like my bandmates. I love a good long run, a good workout and a good book when I'm not practicing scales. I also hope that you see us soon and have a good time when you do. Later.
